Is Israel an Apartheid State? An Evening with Mousa Ishaq
Wednesday, October 28, 7pm
First Unitarian Universalist Society of Burlington
The Palestine Solidarity Team at the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Burlington is honored to present a talk by Palestinian Vermonter Mousa Ishaq. Mousa will weave his personal connection to Palestine into a presentation on the question: Is Israel an Apartheid State? All are welcome.
Mousa was born on the West Bank, and his family still has property there. He is the chair of the Burlington-Bethlehem-Arad Sister City Program and has been active in it since its creation in 1991.
He is a member of Ascension Lutheran Church, in South Burlington, which has a sister congregation relationship with the Christmas Lutheran Church in Bethlehem, Palestine.
The Burlington-Bethlehem-Arad Sister City Program is the United States' first tripartite sister city partnership linking an American city (Burlington, Vermont), a Palestinian city (Bethlehem in the West Bank), and an Israeli city (Arad in the Negev Desert).
This event is part of a series intended to prepare members of the First UU Society of Burlington for their votes on November 8, 2026, to endorse the Apartheid-Free Communities Pledge as an institution.
